Within the program for Sports and Youth of the Town Hall of #Benahavís is the winter activity of, “Conoce la nieve” (Meet the snow).

A sporting activity related to skiing and snowboarding, invented for all registered youth in Benahavis who are at least 16 years old, up to 35 years old. On 14/02/20, we travel to the Sierra de Granada to enjoy this recreational and sporting activity in Sierra Nevada, a unique place in our Andalusian geography.

The event includes ski pass for the whole day. A 3 ski pass raffle for this season among those who accompany us. Round trip transportation to Sierra Nevada by coach. Snack in the coach. Monitors/guides in the coach and at the ski resort of Sierra Nevada.

Registration period is open until March 11th 2020.

Carnival in Ojén

Ojen City Council published the rules that will apply to the costume contest for Carnival 2020, which will take place on Saturday 29th February.

As always there will be three categories: Prizes will be given to the three best adult costumes, the 3 best child costumes and to the best group. Anyone can participate and no registration is required. You just need to turn up in the Plaza de Andalucía early in the afternoon wearing your costume.

Any association or club that wants to be part of the judges can contact the Department of Festivities.

This year the City Council of Ojén has added an evening programme, including DJ Carlos DlaMega from 18:30 - 21:30h.

Benahavís Theatre

The City of Benahavis has announced the annual program for 2020. Under the title of "Benahavis is theater" are planned for a total of 10 works, which will be represented in the assembly hall of the City under the organization of the Department of Culture and the coordination of Garage Productions.
The first two works are announced for 25 and 26 January. On the first day "Conversations with Mother" arrives, with the actors María Luisa Merlo and Jesus Cisneros. Pilar Massa directs. On 26 it shall turn to the children 's theater with the performance of "Red Riding Hood" by the Jabetín Theater, based on an original screenplay by Eva Martinez, who is the same director. Admission is free until full capacity
For the rest of the year are announced, among others, the monologues with Salva Reina and Thomas Garcia, the show Agustin Jimenez and five musical shows for children.

15th November - 18th December: Charity campaign - toy and food collection

GPS Marbella, Keller Williams Marbella and Alfonso Lacruz have launched their fourth toy and food collection in order to help local families most in need.

To participate, simply drop off donations at our office in the Club House, located in the Residential Las Terrazas, in Urb. Puerto del Almendro. Please donate toys that are new or in good condition, while for food especially oil, milk, sugar, tomato sauce, vegetables, pasta, baby food products and diapers are requested.

The purpose of this campaign is that no families of Marbella run out of food neither toys in these special days. Likewise we recall that throughout the year you can make donations of food, toys and clothing in various non-profit associations in town.

Go ahead and collaborate. Together we can help!

14/08 - 19/08 FAIR OF BENAHAVIS

The next wensday the 14th of August will start the celebrations in honor of the patron saint, the Virgen del Rosario.

In the tradition and style of Andalusian fairs. Local authorities inaugurated the fair with an institutional dinner, a parade and lighting of the fairgrounds. Then begins the opening speech by a popular character and is crowned the queens and ladies.

The second day children's games and other activities take place and 1.00 pm is given the green light to the fair day in which both benahavileños and visitors enliven the hours with dances, typical dishes and tapas.

All this for 5 days and always around August 15, considered the big day, which comes out in procession to the Virgen del Rosario.

San Pedro Alcántara celebrates for the second consecutive year the Festival 'Art Fest' with 20 companies and 24 performances of music, dance, circus and theater.

Some of the locations in which the representations will take place will be: Pasaje Robledano, Marqués del Duero street, the squares Adolfo Luque Chicote, La Libertad, Istán and the one of the Cruz de Mayor, the Conjunto San Luis and the Boulevard.

JOAQUÍN MARÍA CRESPO CANDELA, born in Cáceres in 1956. He tells us: "I was fortunate that my parents wanted my extracurricular activities during the baccalaureate to be English and fine arts, where I had teachers who taught me the rudiments of composition , light, vanishing points, proportions, etc. After several destinations in Spain, I was lucky enough to get to know Andalusia, where I have lived for decades, married to a marbellera. Professionally dedicated to the right and vocationally to photography, initially to analogue and now to digital, although without totally abandoning the first one. I enjoy making photos and almost looking at others. I was always fascinated by its potential to make the moment eternal. My maximum ambition, to have more time to dedicate to the family and make and keep looking at photographs "

Joaquín's photograph exudes truth. As well as harmony and composition, Joaquin's work transports us to the time when classic photographers came out with their cameras to portray the reality of the street. The black and white that he offers us in his prints reminds us of the red light laboratories where we spent so many hours to squeeze the negative to make copies that left us the time and "luck". Joaquín is a nostalgic and his classic black and white photography carries a mark of extreme quality. And he knows how to portray the street and translate it as a fleeting vision inside. It does not leave you indifferent, absolutely and guaranteed

Good afternoon, Málaga C.F. celebrates its internal campus, and tomorrow's day in our town from July 1 to July 7 (both days inclusive).

As we have done in previous events, the sports delegation will help process applications for children registered in Benahavís.
For this special summer event, our children have a reduced price in the registration to the campus.
The operation is very, very simple
At the reception of the town hall, or on the website of Málaga C.F. you can pick up or download the registration forms. They also have the attached document in this email.

This year’s charity is “Fundacion Andres Olivares”, a charity for children with cancer and their families. It is based at the maternity hospital in Malaga.

Will be held on Sunday 3rd June 2018 in the Parque Torre Leonera in Benahavis. The gates open at 5.30 pm with the curtains up at 6.30 pm prompt.

We have another exceptional evening planned for you with all the performers giving their time for free in aid of the charity. Maretta Ragnarsson has managed to secure the fabulous “Stella” for the third year in a row, along with singers Gemma Cabanas, Karen Danzig and the Del Sol Choir. Diana King is producer for the whole event with Jamie Stonehewer doing the lighting and technical support.

Hayward Elliott will be directing the short comedy play “Strictly Sex Factor on Ice” written by David Tristram. He has a fabulous cast with Martin Curd playing “Gordon”, Russell Hood playing “Bernard”, Eileen Audas playing “Margaret” and Rebecca Flowerdew playing “Joyce”. 

Entry is by a donation to the charity, we are suggesting a minimum donation of 13€ per person. You may make your donation online via our website internationaltheatrestudio.org or pay on the door on the day.

Parking will be available for free, courtesy of the Benahavis Council, using their car park under the town hall.

Please come along and support this charity and help us to make this year’s “Lark in the Park” as good as the previous ones!

Today, Andalusia is ahead of Europe in terms o the highest percentage of obese children 's age, head regarding cases of type 2 diabetes and problems related to malnutrition, or what amounts to the same, com er bad, eat junk food, eat too much saturated fat, salt and toxic simple sugars, including poor nutrition habits and physical activity. 

This evening we wil discuss the best possible medicines, discuss health, nutrition and physical exercise for all. 

We will cover as far as possible all these issues and many more, so do not be missed.

2/5/2018: Installation of video surveillance in Benahavís

Last week was held a Meeting at the Town Hall of Benahavís with the Councilors for Security, Urbanizations, police, and technicians, in order to introduce the preliminary project for the installation of a video surveillance system in the municipality of Benahavís. This project includes the installation of high technology cameras system managed by an Artificial Intelligence (AI) that will allow the recognition of people and vehicles. These cameras will be located at strategic points of the municipality, following the criteria of the Local Police and Guardia Civil for the election of their location.

The start-up of this project is expected for next autumn, once approved by all official entities involved.

Today the 3rd Cultural Week of Benahavis starts!

Benahavis is offering a week full of cultural activities for all audiences and tastes. They have given high priority to children and therefore will organize many workshops for kids, theaters, and storytelling for the little ones. There will also be room for cinema, reading and domino tournaments.

On April 17th, the exhibition of women inventors will be inaugurated at the Cultural Center and may be visited until May 2.

On Sunday 24th there will take place the parade "Del Libro al Cine" from noon on the Avenida Andalucía. There will be a performance of the municipal music band, the municipal flamenco dance group and the performance of the Youth Band "Devils in the Sky" and the spectacle of the famous Sergio Sánchez "El Monaguillo" entitled ¿Sólo lo veo yo ?.

13/4/2018: The New Citizen Card - Benahavis

The Benahavis tonwhall establishes changes in relation to the acquisition and enjoyment of the Citizen Card holders. A card that was launched 10 years ago and has brought many benefits to the registered. A Citizen Card holders that lets you enjoy sports, crafts and culture, among other activities with many advantages, it is ultimately the role after it.

The Citizen Card holders has undergone a significant and advantageous modifications, some of which have been exposed by the citizens and their concerns for improvement.


In this 2018 his flesh Citizen will remain optional, as always, and voluntary acquisition. 
We detail some of the new advantages thereof:

  • It will be available any day of the year.
  • The annual payment will be charged to your bank account you provide automatically, thus preventing have to scroll every time you need to renew.
  • The first payment of the new license, will be held at City Hall (credit card), or your trusted entity, but only the first time.
  • A single fee for all.
  • The renewal will be automatic every year from the receipt thereof to your bank, and it is the citizen who decides if he wants to remain eligible to meat citizen or not.
  • The acquisition of the new Citizen Card holders will no longer be provided for the purposes of income tax as their new payment and processing, allow.

In short, more benefits and more facilities for the registered citizens. 
They can go through the reception of the town hall, where they advise and inform about the new Citizen Card holders, or contact sports delegation, whenever they want.
